Monster Island, The Asylum's 2019 mockbuster that was released around the same time as Godzilla: King of the Monsters, is about an island called Monster Island where a monster may be discovered, who is sort of the island, the Monster Island, if you will.


It's an asylum movie with the budget (link) of a big kid's dinner. But it uses it wisely. It concentrates on a few human characters while keeping its big stars in a single set so that all their sequences can still be recorded during lunch. The Asylum may not be as bad as it seems considering this is the kaiju style.
